What is certainly a strange transition - from constantly studying, thinking about studying, and thinking about how I should be thinking about when to study to having nothing to do for three weeks - became even more so when I came back to spend some time with some of the 'rents...
...by painting my dad's office. That's right, in case I needed some motivation, I have officially digressed into the life of a painter. As I was painting today - in Sperrys b/c I forgot more comfortable and appropriate shoes in Athens - I pondered how many brain cells I've probably killed from smelling paint fumes for 8 hours a day - hopefully less than 10.
Needless to say, I'm ready to be back in Athens. However, I am grateful for the chance to earn some money. I was naturally supposed to get my financial aid check deposited today and it didn't happen. (Hopefully the government hasn't given all their money to failed banks and obsolete auto manufacturers...maybe I should get in line or just fail out of school and then ask the government for money, hmmm...)
I have a hard time trying to rest over the break, but I'm hoping to accomplish more of that with the new year. I've nearly checked all the things off my to-do list (composed of various things I have been putting off for at least 2 months), so I am looking forward to relaxing in my house in Athens.
At least til the 6th, when my life turns back into sleep class studying sleep and repeat until May 6 or so...
